Don’t Walk Alone
Just-in-time education and tools to support CLL patients on their treatment journey and living well with CLL.
Working with cancer patient charities, patient groups, industry and medical experts, (in association with the Patient Empowerment Network (PEN) and Swiss-registered charity the Patient Empowerment Foundation (PEF), Brandcast Health are developing a support application for CLL patients.
The app will provide patients with ‘just-in-time’ video support to help them through each step of their treatment journey. It will contain practical tools that make medical visits and consultations less stressful, and will improve patient knowledge – for example, via a ‘recommended questions’ guide, and audio recording and playback facilities for consultations.
‘Well-being’ trackers will be integrated into the app through new technology, such as wearables, in order to help monitor quality of life and well-being.
In addition, location services will be incorporated, including an interactive map of recognised CLL treatment centres and CLL experts, patient-organised events, and even the ability for users to get in touch with other patients near them – this will help to make sure these people Don’t Walk Alone.
Currently in the ‘proof of concept’ stage of the app, due to be completed in May 2017.
