We recently completed the planning and coverage of the ACE meeting in Shanghai that brought together prostate cancer experts and urologists from around the Asia Pacific region to discuss and debate the latest news, current best practice, and emerging treatments in advanced prostate cancer, in particular castrate resistant prostate cancer treatments such as abiraterone and Radium-223.
The meeting discussed the varying treatments available to doctors from different parts of the region, revealing very different clinical options between the countries, and between standards of care in US and Europe.
As a first trip Shanghai and mainland China, we were expecting a bit of a culture shock but first impressions were that this was a well-oiled, hugely dynamic megacity that is bridging the East and the West pretty well. Obviously we’ve all heard of the smog and pretty sad that it turns out to be true. Our local film crew were fantastic and curated our time there really well with full HD multi-camera studio, studio set ups, and first rate location filming in Shanghai. The weather did clear up on the final day – hence the timelapse above! And we did treat ourselves to a very civilised nightcap or two in the Roosevelt – one of the sky bars dotted along the bund. Great dim sum at Din Tai Fung – Thanks Robert!
